Appaloosa grooming tipa

Appaloosa grooming tips:

The appaloosa has a unique color pattern from solid appaloosa’s to very colourful with a lot of white. The trick with grooming an appaloosa is to groom often to keep the dirty from getting ground into the white and hard to remove. There are a few tips and products I recommend a good shampoo that is good for the skin and is a high sudsing shampoo with vitamin E and PABA sunscreen to help protect the coat from harsh elements. Also for daily small stains a “green spot remover” may also work when there isn’t time for a bath. It is a spray on dry clean shampoo that removes stains easily. For appaloosas that like to roll and stay dirty a light sheet may do the trick as well, also there is a whitening shampoo to help get the tough stains out. It is Vetrolin’s “white n brite” shampoo it is a blue shampoo that is to be used on the hard to remove stains or on the white areas to help brighten. I suggest using this shampoo last and only leave it on for about 3-5 minutes depending on the size of the stain. Always make sure to rinse this shampoo off really well or the white will turn blue.
